We met on a Christian dating app called Upward in February 2023. After getting to know each other over texting, phone calls, and FaceTiming, Corey asked me out on our first date. He was living near Austin and I was living at home in Tomball just outside of Houston. He drove to Houston and we met for brunch and then hung out at a nearby park. Corey drove back to Houston for our second date that next weekend. My sister was in nursing school at the time in Round Rock, not too far from where Corey was living. I visited her soon after that and got to go on more dates with Corey. We decided we wanted to be in a relationship together in March! For about year and a half we did long distance, but were still able to see each other just about every week or every other week, alternating going to Houston/Austin.
Our First Trip Together
February 2024, a year after we met, we decided to go on a road trip to Disney World. This was our first time getting to spend a full week together since Corey’s work schedule only gives him 2 days off in a row. This was such a fun trip because I love going to the Disney parks and did an internship there when I was in college. I enjoyed getting to show Corey around since he hadn’t been there in a while.
International Travels
In May 2024, we took a trip to Costa Rica. We got to spend time on the pacific coast and also in the rainforest. This trip was full of adventures! Our favorite part of the trip was spending time relaxing in the beautiful La Fortuna rainforest area.
Our Engagement
August 2024 we took a roadtrip to Fredericksburg, TX for my birthday. We stayed in a log cabin airbnb, got to go to wineries and a brewery, and enjoyed the Texas hill country. The day after my birthday, we went to dinner and a bar after that for some drinks. Corey said he wanted to watch the sunset with me so he suggested we go to cross mountain to watch it. I thought it was a little strange he wanted us to hike up this small hill since I was wearing a dress and he wasn’t dressed for that either. It was also hot and humid. We made it to the top and were the only ones up there. We sat on a bench and watched the sunset & that’s when he popped the question!
