James & Caroline

Caroline & James: A Love Story Written by God (and Sparked on Upward)

At Upward, we believe that God is still in the business of writing beautiful love stories — the kind that are filled with purpose, prayer, and perfect timing.

Caroline and James are living proof.

Caroline had been on and off Upward longer than she could even care to remember. Like so many singles, she held onto hope, even when the waiting felt long.

James, on the other hand, downloaded Upward and stepped into the journey with fresh expectation… and what happened next can only be described as God’s handiwork.

Their story unfolded quickly — but with incredible clarity, peace, and joy.

Here’s how it all began…

📅 December 19, 2024 — James joined Upward💛 Within 24 hours, he matched with Caroline💬 They started talking on the app within two days📱 Within a week, their conversations moved to texting🍽️ Just nine days later, they went on their first date

And it didn’t take long for both of them to realize this was something different.

Just two days after that first date, they deleted every dating app.

From there, their connection only grew stronger. They spent every spare moment together over the next month, and before they knew it…

They were completely, head-over-heels in love.

A Forever Kind of Love

On October 28, 2025, James asked Caroline to marry him — a moment that marked the beginning of their next chapter.

And now, they’re preparing to say “I do” on March 20, 2026.

More Than They Could Imagine

Their journey is a beautiful reminder of what Scripture promises:

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think…”Ephesians 3:20

Caroline and James didn’t just find a match — they found a testimony of God’s faithfulness.

So if you’re still waiting, still hoping, still praying…

Believe Him.

God can do more than you could ever ask, think, or imagine — and sometimes, it starts with a simple swipe of faith.

💛 Congratulations, Caroline & James — we’re honored Upward got to be part of your story.
