Lydia & Hunter

When you know, you know.

Hunter and Lydia met on Upward in May of 2024 and are now engaged to be married! It really was a tale of "when you know, you know.” After chatting for just a few days, Hunter asked Lydia out for brunch at his favorite breakfast place. They both talked about how breakfast was their favorite type of food in their online chatting with each other, so it naturally led to a really wonderful meet-up! They enjoyed the conversation, and Hunter even brought Lydia flowers to give to her after the first date was over (MEN: TAKE NOTE!). As Hunter and Lydia continued dating, they learned so much about themselves as individuals and how they functioned together. It was really clear that God had brought them together in His perfect timing, even though the search for a Godly relationship was long and difficult for both Hunter and Lydia, with many failed attempts and significant relationship burns along the way. Through playing lots of board games, drinking beers at local distilleries, watching many movie musicals, and taking numerous long “walk & talks,” they began to realize that they were meant for one another. On December 7, 2024, Hunter asked Lydia to marry him, and she said, “Yes!” of course! Lydia and Hunter will get married in front of their closest friends and family on June 15, 2025, and cannot wait to start their lives together!
