A Divine Union
On February 14, 2023, my therapist suggested that I try online dating through the Upward Dating app. Although I had been against online dating before, I was open to it this time since I had previously found great success with finding quality friends virtually.
Darius, on the other hand, had also been against online dating but was willing to give it a try since he had lost his fiancée to a sudden illness five years prior. We both joined the app around the same time, and it was incredible that we found each other despite living in different cities. I was in Charlotte, NC, and he was in Myrtle Beach, SC.
We connected on the app on February 22, 2023, and we hit it off right away. We knew that this was serious, so we got off the app within 1.5 weeks of connecting. After a series of divine encounters, we quickly discovered that we were meant for each other and got engaged on our 9th month anniversary on 11/22/2023.
Finally, on January 20, 2024, which was also Darius' birthday, we got married in front of our closest friends and family. We want to use our story on Upward to inspire others that anything is possible with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
