We hope that anyone who uses Upward with the intention of finding their match is successful. Our advice would be, to be honest about who you are and what you want, and instead of trying to put so much into making sure your profile is perfect, just make sure your heart is in the right place before you start your search to protect your heart and others. Here’s our story: Ja’Rel and I just got married this past Saturday, October 21, 2023. We met in 2021 on the same day and have been in love ever since. I was looking for a man of God who was sincere in his walk with Christ and he was looking for marriage. We both accepted that the world didn’t align with our dating standards and found Upward and used it as a way to meet like-minded people- then we met each other! We dated for about three months before he asked to be my boyfriend, and I immediately said yes. Ja’Rel felt like an old friend and getting to know him came naturally. In May of this year, he proposed, and he said I felt familiar, like home. He asked me to marry him and I said YES! Our families supporting us, we were married this month on the same day as our first date, and we have Upward to thank!
