Madalyn & Fred

Love matched. Story submitted by Madalyn.

Fred and I met on the Christian Dating App Upward on June 17, 2022. We matched and hit it off with each other as we continued conversing for a month. On July 16, 2022, Fred asked me out on a date and we met each other at the Austin Zoo. That date went on for over seven hours which consisted of us going to the zoo, window shopping, and eating at our favorite fast-food restaurant: Chick-fil-A. Over the course of the next week, we went on several more dates, and on July 23, 2022, Fred asked me to be his girlfriend under a pergola at Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas. That fall I entered my last semester of college at Texas State University where I was finishing up my studies. Fred and I lived about 45 minutes away from each other so throughout the course of that semester, we would continue visiting each other multiple times a week, we took trips to visit each other's families and we continued getting to know each other on a deeper level. The start of 2023 began with Fred moving to San Antonio because of a new job opportunity. The longer distance meant we couldn't visit each other as frequently and, because of this, it made me realize even more how important he is to me in my life. I didn't know it but around this time, he had started making plans for when and how he would propose to me because he felt the same. Fast forward to April 1, 2023. I was under the impression that Fred and I would be taking a weekend trip to Corpus Christi to visit some of his family but that wasn't our only reason for going. At about 6:30 pm that day we, along with some of his family, went to the marina in downtown Corpus Christi to take some "family pictures". It was there that Fred proposed to me and it was an easy "yes" from me! We are both excited to enter into this next chapter of our lives and, more importantly, enter into it with each other and n October 26, 2023. Our number one prayer as we enter marriage is that Fred and I would be servants of the Lord individually in our personal relationship with Him, together in our service to one another, and, ultimately, servants as one to those around us. May God continue to be the cornerstone of our relationship and may it flourish according to His will and design.
